Important Classroom Information
~One of our goals this school year is to build your child's independence as a learner...to prepare them for junior high and beyond! That being said, we want to support them the very best that we can. During each class period, we will fill out our planners TOGETHER with what we did in class, the HW for that evening, and long term project dates. If you have any questions about what they need to do, please check here first! We also document what we did in class, but homework will have an "HW" circled next to something that needs to be completed.
~Please do your very best to be at school on-time! If possible, schedule appointments after school or on Thursday when we have early release.
~Our room temperatures fluctuate throughout the day; we suggest that students who get cold easily bring a sweater or jacket to wear.
~We allow students to bring a bottle of water to school to keep at their desk. It must have a lid and hopefully doesn't leak. Please make sure that it is plain water…no Kool-Aid or sugary drinks…especially not soda! They may also have a healthy snack to eat when needed.
~If you would like to bring in treats for your student's birthday, you may send them in with your child in the morning. District policy is that they have to be commercially produced/store bought. We will pass them out during lunch time (11:30) to our homeroom class, which currently has 26 students.
~Your child may bring his/her cell phone, but it must be turned off and kept in his/her book bag. It is school board policy that these items are the sole responsibility of the student, and that teachers and schools cannot be held accountable for lost, stolen, or damaged electronics. If a student does bring a cell phone to school and we see it, a parent must come to retrieve it.
~If you and your student filled out the "Bring Your Own Device" policy, you are more than welcome to bring an e-reader to school...as long as you follow the requirements.
